Museums at Night: Identity
October 25 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pmFree
Visit the Library and Museum of Freemasonry at Freemasons’ Hall after hours for Museums at Night and discover how the themes of freemasonry and identity are woven together alongside the new exhibition Bejewelled: Badges, Brotherhood and Identity.
Visitors to this special evening event can meet a freemason to find out what it means to be a mason and how you can fit one inside a suitcase!
You can join a tour of Freemasons’ Hall and find out how it preserves the identity of those it was built to honour, and how it touched everyone who contributed towards it.
You can find out if there is a freemason in your family thanks to our partnership with Ancestry.com
There will be a museum talk introducing the new exhibition Bejewelled: Badges, Brotherhood and Identity. This exhibition is the largest public exhibition of masonic jewels ever displayed in the UK. From three centuries and around the world, the beautiful craftsmanship that the jewels display is only matched by the story behind each one. In addition to the exhibition talk you can create your own ‘jewel’ that tells us who you are.
Come and relax at the pop-up bar and enjoy music inspired by the theme of the night. Everyone is welcome and activities are free.
